OpSpot ("we", "us", or "our") operates the OpSpot mobile application and this website at opspotapp.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive identifiers and profile details your provider shares (such as name and email). You may also set a display name and profile photo.
- Saved content — Spots you save, lists you create, and related preferences are stored so the app can sync them when you are signed in.
- Feedback and reports — If you submit feedback, city requests, or spot reports, we store the content you send and optional details in your submission.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and analytics — We log events such as app opens, spot views, saves, searches, and shares to understand how the app is used and improve it. These events are linked to an anonymous or authenticated user identifier.
- Device and app context — Such as platform, OS version, language, and timezone.
- Location — With your permission, we use your device location to show nearby spots and improve map features. We do not continuously track your location in the background.
How we use information
- Provide and improve the app (maps, search, saved lists, sharing)
- Authenticate you and sync your data across devices when you sign in
- Respond to feedback and support requests
- Monitor reliability, fix bugs, and understand product usage
- Comply with legal obligations
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers — Including Supabase (hosting and authentication), Google (Maps, Places, and optional Sign-In), and Apple (Sign in with Apple), solely to operate the app.
- Legal requirements — When required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Data retention
We keep your data while you use the app. If you delete your account in the app, we remove your account, saved lists, profile, and profile photo from our systems. Some analytics or support records may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form.
Your choices
- Use the app without signing in (anonymous mode) — saves stay on that device session until you sign in or delete the app.
- Sign out or delete your account from Profile in the app.
- Revoke location access in iOS Settings at any time.
- Contact us to request access or deletion of personal data we hold.
Children
OpSpot is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
International users
Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. By using OpSpot you consent to this transfer where applicable law allows.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
